Emir Congratulates Three Ilorin Indigenes on Elevation to SAN
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has congratulated three legal practitioners from the Ilorin Emirate following their elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The Emir described the conferment of the prestigious title as a recognition of the recipients’ dedication, hard work and outstanding contributions to the legal profession.
His congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona.
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) recently approved the elevation of a new set of legal practitioners to the rank of SAN, regarded as the highest professional distinction for advocates in Nigeria, in recognition of their excellence in legal practice and contributions to the administration of justice.
According to the statement, the three Ilorin Emirate indigenes named among the 2026 SAN-designates are the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Sulyman Ibrahim, Barrister Mas’ud Alabelewe and Barrister Mohammed Adelodun.
Sulu-Gambari said the elevation reflects the professional excellence, commitment and dedication of the beneficiaries to the legal profession.
He noted that the SAN rank remains the highest mark of professional distinction bestowed on legal practitioners who have distinguished themselves through advocacy and service in the courts.
The Emir urged the newly elevated Senior Advocates to uphold the ethics, integrity and standards of the legal profession while serving as worthy role models for younger lawyers.
He also commended the LPPC for recognising merit and finding the sons of Ilorin Emirate worthy of the prestigious honour.
The monarch prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Senior Advocates wisdom, guidance and success as they continue to contribute to justice delivery, national development and the service of humanity.
