EPL: Odegaard, Havertz Score as Arsenal Complete Comeback Win Over Chelsea

Arsenal came from a goal down to defeat Chelsea 2-1 in a thrilling English Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The reigning champions were stunned early in the London derby when Chelsea took the lead just two minutes into the game.

Morgan Rogers opened the scoring for the visitors with a powerful low drive from the edge of the box that beat Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya to make it 1-0.

Arsenal responded strongly and began to create several opportunities as they searched for an equaliser. Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez kept the hosts at bay on several occasions, while the offside trap also denied Ricardo Calafiori a potential equaliser.

However, Chelsea could not hold out for long as Kai Havertz restored parity in the 25th minute with a curling effort into the far corner.

Arsenal continued to dominate after the break and completed the comeback five minutes into the second half.

Captain Martin Odegaard timed his run perfectly to meet Christos Tzolis’ pass inside the box before calmly finishing to put Arsenal 2-1 ahead.

Chelsea pushed for an equaliser but Arsenal held firm to secure all three points and maintain their perfect start to the season.

The victory extended Arsenal’s winning run at the Emirates against Chelsea to five consecutive matches and stretched their unbeaten run against the Blues in all competitions to 12 games.

Arsenal now sit joint-top of the Premier League with Manchester City on nine points, while Chelsea remain fourth.

Maitland-Niles rescues Everton against Man United

Earlier on Sunday, former Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a dramatic 96th-minute equaliser as Everton secured a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko twice put United ahead, but Tyrique George restored parity before Maitland-Niles struck deep into stoppage time on his Everton debut to deny the visitors victory.
