Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has revealed that he is currently finding it difficult to walk and has also been experiencing swelling in different parts of his body.

Edochie made the disclosure during a visit to Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra, Ghana, on Thursday. The veteran actor visited his colleague, who has been dealing with health challenges, and offered financial support towards his care.

During the emotional visit, Edochie prayed for Armah’s recovery before speaking about his own health condition. He said his physical state had made movement difficult but added that he remained hopeful about getting better.

Edochie said, “Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover myself.”

The actor further explained that he had been experiencing swelling in some parts of his body, with the condition sometimes appearing and later reducing.

He said, “Sometimes I get up, and parts of my body are swollen. After some time, it goes down again. Like my hand is swollen now.”

The veteran actor also spoke about his fear of becoming a burden to the people around him because of his health condition. He said he had been asking God to decide when his life should end rather than leaving his loved ones to struggle with caring for him.

According to Edochie, “I just keep asking God, ‘You are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me, don’t let me bother the people who are around me. Just take me.’”

Despite his current difficulties, Edochie said he continued to hold on to hope that his condition would improve. His disclosure came while he was offering support and encouragement to Armah during the visit.

The meeting therefore became an emotional moment for both actors, as Edochie, despite dealing with his own health challenges, visited his colleague and prayed for his recovery.
