The National President of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, has embarked on his annual vacation and travelled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

Jagunmo, in a statement personally signed by him and released to the press by the National Director of Publicity, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, announced that he had temporarily handed over the affairs of the association to the Vice President, Alhaji Murtala Ottan.

Ottan will serve as Acting National President throughout Jagunmo’s absence and oversee the day-to-day affairs of the association until his return.

According to Jagunmo, the decision to perform Umrah as part of his annual vacation also provides him with an opportunity to offer prayers for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the Ilorin Emirate.

He said he would particularly pray for the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR; members of the Royal Family; the Ilorin Emirate Council; as well as all sons and daughters of the Emirate, both at home and in the diaspora.

The IEYDA President urged the Acting National President to remain committed and dedicated to his responsibilities, ensuring that the association’s programmes and activities continue to run smoothly during his absence.

Jagunmo expressed confidence in Ottan’s capacity to provide effective leadership and safeguard the interests of the association until his return.
