Anthony Joshua Knocks Out Kristian Prenga in Stunning Comeback Victory

British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Albanian challenger Kristian Prenga by second-round knockout in an entertaining heavyweight contest on Saturday.

According to BBC Sport, Joshua endured a difficult start after Prenga came out aggressively in the opening round, knocking the former world heavyweight champion down twice and raising hopes of a major upset.

Despite the early setback, Joshua regained his composure and responded with relentless pressure, using his experience to turn the fight in his favour.

The bout ended in the second round when Joshua landed a devastating right hand that sent Prenga crashing to the canvas, forcing the referee to stop the contest.

An emotional Joshua dedicated the victory to his family, saying the triumph was about more than his punching power.

“It’s more than punch power. That was spirit, that was Latz, that was Sina, that was the family. It hurts to even talk about it. It has been tough,” the 36-year-old said.

Joshua briefly stepped away from the microphone while fighting back tears before adding, “It’s my brother. I don’t want to talk about it.”

Attention has now shifted to a potential blockbuster showdown with fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury. Although there had been speculation that Fury would attend the fight, he was absent after recently recording a warm-up victory over Mariusz Wach in Thailand.

Speaking about a possible clash with Fury, Joshua expressed respect for his long-time rival but said the time had come for the two heavyweights to finally meet in the ring.

“I respect everything he has done and everything that he has achieved, but as a fighting person, we’re here now. I hope the fans will be in for a lovely treat,” Joshua said.

While contracts for the long-anticipated bout have reportedly been signed, the date and venue for the fight are yet to be announced.

Joshua’s victory marked an impressive comeback, highlighting his resilience and determination after navigating what he described as one of the toughest periods of his life.
