Ganduje Dismisses NDC Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed claims that he has defected to the New Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the reports as false and politically motivated.
Reacting to posters circulating on social media suggesting he had joined the NDC, the former Kano State governor insisted that he remains committed to the APC and has no intention of leaving the ruling party.
In a statement released on Friday by his former Commissioner for Information and Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje said the posters were part of a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at misleading the public, causing confusion among APC supporters, and fueling unnecessary political speculation.
He stressed that he has remained consistent in his political beliefs and has never considered abandoning the APC, a party he previously led as National Chairman.
According to the statement, claims linking Ganduje to the NDC are baseless and lack any political or logical justification.
Ganduje also maintained that the APC remains Nigeria’s largest and strongest political party, noting that it continues to expand its support base under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
He described those behind the fake posters as political mischief-makers seeking to damage his reputation and create unnecessary tension within the party.
The former governor revealed that individuals responsible for producing and circulating the posters had been identified, warning that legal action would be taken if they failed to withdraw the defamatory materials and stop spreading them.
He urged APC members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the posters, insisting they do not represent his political position or future plans.
The statement further reaffirmed Ganduje’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu and the APC leadership in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda while strengthening the party ahead of future political activities.
It also advised the public to rely only on official statements from Ganduje and the APC on matters concerning his political engagements.
