2027 : Ajia Strengthens Governorship Campaign, Appoints Media, Stakeholder Engagement Team
The 2027 governorship campaign of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in Kwara State, **Professor Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia**, has announced the appointment of three key officials to strengthen its media, communications and stakeholder engagement structure as preparations for the next governorship election gather momentum.
The appointments, which took effect on Wednesday, July 1, are part of the campaign’s strategy to build what it described as a lean, professional and people-oriented organisation capable of effectively communicating its vision across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Those appointed are **Shuaib Ridwan Alesinloye** as Media Director, and **Sulyman Adekunle Yusuf** as Director of Stakeholder Relations.
In his new role, Alesinloye will oversee the day-to-day operations of the campaign’s media directorate, coordinate media relations, organise press engagements and ensure prompt dissemination of information on campaign activities, policies and programmes.
As Director of Stakeholder Relations, Yusuf will lead the campaign’s engagement with traditional rulers, religious bodies, professional associations, civil society organisations, youth and women groups, business leaders, community-based organisations and other critical stakeholders across Kwara State.
The campaign said the appointments underscore its commitment to building stronger relationships with communities while ensuring that citizens and stakeholders remain active participants in its engagement process.
Speaking on the appointments, the NDC governorship candidate, Professor Ajia, said assembling a competent leadership team was essential to achieving the campaign’s objectives.
He said, *”Building a successful campaign requires more than enthusiasm. It requires competence, discipline, integrity and teamwork. These appointments reflect our commitment to assembling a professional leadership team that is focused on service, accountability and meaningful engagement with the people of Kwara State.*
*”I have every confidence that these gentlemen will serve with dedication and distinction as we work together to move Kwara State forward together.”*
The campaign council also stated that the appointments are in line with its organisational philosophy of efficiency, accountability and results, stressing that it is deliberately avoiding an unnecessarily large bureaucracy in favour of a compact leadership structure with clearly defined responsibilities.
It added that more appointments would be announced in the coming days and weeks as the campaign expands its operations across all 16 local government areas of Kwara State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
