Tinubu Extends Tenures of Two Service Chiefs
President Bola Tinubu has approved an 18-month extension of the tenures of the heads of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
The officers affected are Kemi Nanna Nandap, Comptroller-General of the NIS, and Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, Controller-General of the NCoS.
The approval was announced in a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
According to the statement, Nwakuche will remain in office until May 26, 2028, while Nandap’s tenure has been extended until June 30, 2028.
Onanuga said the extension followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Tinubu commended both officers for the reforms recorded under their leadership and urged them to sustain and build on the progress made in their respective services.
Nwakuche was appointed Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service in December 2024, with the Senate confirming his appointment in March 2025.
Nandap was nominated as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service on February 21, 2024, and her appointment was confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 2024.
