Kaiama Attack: Kwara Gov Announces N90m Support for Affected Soldiers’ Families
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved a N90 million support package for families of soldiers affected by the recent attack in Kaiama, reinforcing the state’s support for security personnel.
The governor announced the fund during a visit to six injured soldiers at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment following the incident.
The package includes N20 million each for the families of the three soldiers who lost their lives, and N5 million each for the six injured soldiers.
Describing their sacrifices as invaluable, AbdulRazaq commended the gallantry and resilience of the troops, assuring that the government would continue to provide necessary support to security agencies.
He explained that the attack was a direct confrontation with military personnel, noting that such incidents point to the desperation of the attackers. He, however, expressed confidence in ongoing security operations to contain the threat and maintain stability in the area.
The governor also praised the support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the president has consistently backed security efforts in Kwara State.
As part of efforts to strengthen local security coordination, AbdulRazaq held a meeting with stakeholders in Ifelodun Local Government and also paid a courtesy visit to traditional authorities in the area.
