The factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, has declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

Imumolen made the declaration on Thursday at the APC mega rally held in Osogbo ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The development comes after the Accord factional chairman had earlier expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke would lose the election, saying he did not believe the governor had what it takes to secure victory at the polls.

At the rally, Imumolen pledged the support of the Accord Party to Oyebamiji and directed members of the party across Osun State to vote for the APC candidate.

He further stated that all structures of the Accord Party in the state would mobilise support for AMBO in Saturday’s election.

Imumolen also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising the President for what he described as resilience and courage in steering the affairs of the country.

According to him, Tinubu has demonstrated the capacity to navigate Nigeria’s complex political and economic challenges without allowing ethnic or religious considerations to influence his leadership.

The endorsement adds to the growing political realignments ahead of the keenly contested Osun governorship election.
