ADC Unveils 2027 Primaries Timetable, Fixes Presidential Form at N100m

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its timetable for primary elections ahead of the 2027 general polls, alongside a detailed fee structure for nomination forms across elective positions.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the schedule underscores ADC’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and compliance with electoral guidelines.

According to him, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is slated for May 11 to May 13.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and May 15, with results to be released on May 17. Appeals will be entertained between May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 20.

Primary elections are set to begin on May 21, with contests for state houses of assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate taking place simultaneously at the ward level.

Governorship primaries will follow on May 22, while the presidential primary is scheduled for May 25.

Abdullahi added that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet on May 26, ahead of a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications will be concluded.

He also disclosed that the presidential nomination form has been pegged at N100 million, with governorship forms priced at N50 million. Senate aspirants will pay N20 million, House of Representatives N10 million, and State House of Assembly N3 million.

To promote inclusivity, the party introduced discounts on nomination fees, offering a 50 percent reduction for youths, and 25 percent for women and persons with disabilities.

Abdullahi urged party members, stakeholders, and aspirants to strictly adhere to the approved timetable and guidelines.
