‘I Was Robbed’ — Portable Cries Foul After Defeat to Carter Efe in Celebrity Boxing Match

Nigerian singer Portable has alleged foul play following his loss to comedian and content creator Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing bout.

The match, held on Saturday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, was part of the Chaos in the Ring 4 event, where Carter Efe secured a unanimous decision victory after what many described as a one-sided contest.

The loss marks Portable’s first defeat in the celebrity boxing scene.

Reacting via his Instagram story, the ‘Zazzu’ crooner insisted he was unfairly treated, claiming that several of his punches were ignored by officials during scoring.

“I was robbed. Carter Efe was wrestling while I was throwing punches. He used his height and long arms to hold me. I landed many punches — why weren’t they counted? Any blow I threw should count, even if it landed on his shoulder or hand,” he said.

Portable also criticised the fight pairing, arguing that the physical disparity between both fighters gave his opponent an undue advantage.

He further demanded payment of about ₦200 million, which he described as his share of streaming revenue from the event.

“Carter Efe kept holding my neck while I was punching him, but nobody is talking about that. They knew he had longer reach but still matched us together. I want my stream money — just pay me before there’s a problem,” he added.
