We’re Studying Osun Election Results — APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State says it is studying the results of Saturday’s governorship election and will determine its next course of action after consulting its legal team.

The party made this known in a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo.

According to the APC, it will explore all constitutional and legal avenues available under the Electoral Act 2026 to address what it described as anomalies observed during the electoral process.

The party said election disputes are part of the electoral process, which may extend from the tribunal to the Court of Appeal and, ultimately, the Supreme Court.

It urged its members and supporters to remain calm and continue with their normal activities, while warning them against responding to provocative actions from members of the ruling party.

The APC also appealed to the Nigeria Police Force to protect its members and supporters, alleging that some of them were being subjected to unnecessary harassment.

The party maintained that its commitment to the rule of law, fairness and justice remained unwavering, adding that it would make a decision after receiving professional advice from its lawyers.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, the winner of the election after he secured 511,067 votes.

The APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 444,815 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, said 985,079 valid votes were recorded, while 20,721 votes were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 1,005,800.

The APC urged its supporters not to lose hope, insisting that “it is not over until it is over.”
