Tinubu Ends Working Vacation, Departs Paris for Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his working vacation in Europe and departed Paris, France, for Nigeria, the Presidency has announced.

Tinubu is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later today.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President chose to return through Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, who is widely remembered for his role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

The President is scheduled to attend the premiere of a movie commemorating Abiola on Independence Day at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The President departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending one week in London before proceeding to Paris.

While in Paris, Tinubu attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose interests in the media and digital sectors include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.

He also met with the Chairman of First Holdings, Femi Otedola, on Monday.

Last week, the President witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a Gateway Deep Seaport in Ogun Waterside and the establishment of a Blue Marine Economic Zone.

DP World, a global ports and logistics company, plans to invest $7 billion in the seaport and economic zone project.

The Presidency said Tinubu will return to Abuja after concluding his political engagements in Lagos.
