PDP Begins Screening of Presidential, Governorship Aspirants for 2027 Elections
The Peoples Democratic Party has commenced the screening of its presidential and governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The screening exercise, being conducted by the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led National Working Committee, is holding at the party’s National Secretariat Annex, Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom, the PDP disclosed that the screening of governorship aspirants would begin by 12 noon on Thursday, while presidential aspirants are scheduled to appear before the committee by 2 p.m. at the same venue.
According to the statement, the presidential screening committee is chaired by former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, while Hassan Sokodobo will serve as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Alhaji Abba Isawa, George Sekibo, Sodipo Semiu, Chinelo Chidebelu, Nasiru Mohammed, Zainab Kure, and Lindsey Sora.
For the governorship aspirants, the screening committee is headed by former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, with George Ariolu serving as Secretary.
Other members of the governorship screening committee include Ibrahim Umar, Aisha Madawaki, Tajudeen Yusuf, Abdulganiyu Oloyin, Babangida Modibbo, Buba Biri, Olaniyi Ogungbuji, Mike Ahumibe, Gabriel Igboko, Tony Effiong, and Precious Ojelabi.
