Manchester City have sealed the signing of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo in a deal worth £65 million.

The Premier League champions confirmed the acquisition in a statement released on Friday, announcing that the 26-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.

Semenyo will wear the number 42 shirt for City, with the move seeing the club activate his release clause. The transfer also stands as Bournemouth’s record sale.

Expressing his delight, the Ghanaian international described the move as a proud moment in his career.

“I am so proud to have joined Manchester City,” Semenyo said. “They set the highest standards and have world-class players, facilities and one of the greatest managers ever in Pep Guardiola.

“I still have a lot of room to improve, and joining a club like this at this stage of my career is perfect. It’s a real privilege to be here, and I believe my best football is still ahead of me.”

Semenyo made his final appearance for Bournemouth in Wednesday’s dramatic 3–2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored the decisive late goal.

He is currently the third-highest goalscorer in the English Premier League this season, trailing only Erling Haaland and Igor Thiago.

Although born in London, Semenyo is of Ghanaian descent and has chosen to represent Ghana at international level.
