Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season following his outstanding performances in the 2025/26 campaign.

The 25-year-old Georgian international played a pivotal role in PSG’s successful title defence, contributing 10 goals and six assists in 16 appearances throughout the competition.

Kvaratskhelia was instrumental in PSG’s dramatic Champions League final victory over Arsenal on Saturday. He won the penalty that led to PSG’s equaliser after being brought down inside the box, with Ousmane Dembélé converting from the spot. The match ended 1-1 after extra time before PSG secured a 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout.

The award was decided by UEFA’s Technical Observer Board, a panel of football experts that includes former England manager Gareth Southgate, ex-Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and former Liverpool boss Rafael Benítez.

In a statement, the panel praised Kvaratskhelia’s impact throughout the tournament, highlighting his memorable display in PSG’s thrilling 5-4 semi-final first-leg victory over Bayern Munich. The Georgian scored twice in the encounter, including a stunning curling effort and a powerful second-half strike.

He also found the net three times across both legs of PSG’s round-of-16 clash against Chelsea and added another goal in the quarter-final tie against Liverpool.

Kvaratskhelia’s impressive European campaign follows his contribution to PSG’s 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 Champions League final, where he was also among the scorers. His latest accolade further cements his status as one of Europe’s most influential attacking players.
