IEYDA congratulates new Balogun Ajikobi, commends Emir of Ilorin for foresight, wisdom

Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has felicitated with the Ilorin Emirate and the entire Ajikobi community on the historic turbanning of Alhaji Sulyman Kayode Abdulwahab as the 13th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate.

In a statement jointly signed by the National President of IEYDA, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, the Association described the turbanning as a well-deserved recognition of dedication, loyalty, and selfless service to the Ilorin Emirate, Islam, and humanity at large.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo stated that the appointment of the new Balogun Ajikobi is a clear reflection of the wisdom, foresight, and exemplary leadership of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, whose reign continues to promote unity, peace, stability, and sustainable development across the Emirate.

He noted that the title of Balogun Ajikobi is a highly revered traditional institution, vested with critical responsibilities including community leadership, mediation and conflict resolution, the promotion of Islamic values, and unwavering support for the Emir’s administration. According to him, the newly turbaned Balogun Ajikobi possesses the pedigree, experience, integrity, and capacity required to uphold the honour and dignity of the esteemed title.

Jagunmo further affirmed that IEYDA, as a youth-driven and development-oriented organization, remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting traditional institutions and title holders who champion peace, youth empowerment, moral uprightness, and socio-economic development within the Ilorin Emirate.

The Association prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Balogun Ajikobi wisdom, sound health, long life, and divine guidance to discharge his responsibilities with justice, humility, and fear of Allah, while also praying for the continued progress and prosperity of Ilorin Emirate under the leadership of His Royal Highness.
