AOA Charity Foundation, YAY Foundation Empower Over 600 Schoolgirls with Menstrual Health Education in Ilorin

AOA Charity Foundation, in collaboration with Youngsters Are Young-Stars (YAY) Foundation, has empowered more than 600 female students of Government Girls Day Secondary School, Okesuna, Ilorin, through a comprehensive Menstrual Health Education and Girl-Child Empowerment Outreach.

The initiative, aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene awareness and boosting the confidence of young girls, featured the distribution of sanitary pads and educational leaflets. The outreach also provided a safe and interactive platform where students were educated on proper menstrual hygiene practices while addressing common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.

Beyond menstrual health education, the organisers inspired the students to embrace their potential and aspire to leadership and excellence in their chosen careers. The girls were encouraged to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams without limitations, and recognise that gender should never be a barrier to becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs, leaders, or changemakers in society.

Speaking on the outreach, the organisers reaffirmed their commitment to empowering girls with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

They attributed the success of the programme to the dedication of their team, volunteers, and partners whose collective efforts made the initiative possible.

AOA Charity Foundation and Youngsters Are Young-Stars (YAY) Foundation reiterated their resolve to expand the initiative to more schools and communities, with the goal of promoting dignity, confidence, equal opportunities, and a brighter future for every girl.
