Cubana Chief Priest Loses APC Reps Primary in Imo
Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat in Imo State.
The celebrity barman and businessman contested for the APC ticket to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections but was defeated by the incumbent lawmaker, Canice More Nwachukwu.
Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in the green chamber, emerged victorious in the party’s primary election.
Cubana Chief Priest officially joined the race in April 2026 after purchasing the APC expression of interest and nomination forms for the federal constituency seat.
The socialite previously served as an aide to Hope Uzodinma. During a meeting with aspirants on Thursday, the governor reportedly urged all contestants to test their popularity at the grassroots rather than endorsing any preferred candidate.
Cubana Chief Priest has consistently shown support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling APC.
He was also appointed as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a youth support group backing Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
