Governor Babagana Zulum has dissolved the Borno State Executive Council, effectively removing all commissioners from his cabinet.

The directive was announced on Monday in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani. According to the statement, all affected commissioners have been instructed to hand over their responsibilities to their respective permanent secretaries on or before April 3, 2026.

The move is aimed at creating room for any cabinet member interested in contesting elective positions in the upcoming general elections.

Governor Zulum also commended the outgoing commissioners for their service, dedication, and contributions to the development of Borno State.

The development aligns with directives requiring political appointees seeking elective offices to resign in line with provisions of the amended Electoral Act.
