Yahaya Bello Hints at Senate Bid to Support Ododo
Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said Governor Usman Ododo asked him to consider representing the Ebira people at the national level to help address outstanding challenges facing the area.
Bello spoke at the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, where he praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening unity within the ruling party and described Ododo as a trusted ally of the president.
He said the request was not driven by personal ambition but by the need to ease the burden of governance through effective representation at the Senate.
His comments have heightened speculation that he may contest the senatorial seat currently held by Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who has said she is not afraid of facing Bello in the 2027 election.
