UCL Second-Round Draw: Chelsea to Face PSG, Man City Draw Real Madrid Again
European heavyweights are set for thrilling encounters after the second-round draw of the UEFA Champions League.
Defending champions Real Madrid will once again take on Manchester City in what has become a familiar knockout fixture. This marks the fifth consecutive season both sides will clash in the competition’s knockout stages. The tie also repeats their league phase meeting in December, which City won 2-1.
Since the 2021/22 campaign, the two clubs have met in the latter stages every year, with Madrid advancing three times, while City have progressed once.
Elsewhere, Chelsea have been drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in a rematch of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final in the United States, where the Premier League side defeated the French champions in a heated encounter.
Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray will renew rivalry with Liverpool after their earlier meeting this season, which was decided by the Nigerian striker’s penalty.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid, featuring Ademola Lookman, will take on Tottenham Hotspur, while Barcelona face Newcastle United.
Other fixtures will see Arsenal battle Bayer Leverkusen, Bodo/Glimt square off against Sporting Lisbon, and Atalanta clash with Bayern Munich.
The first legs of the ties are scheduled for March 10 and 11, with the return fixtures set to take place a week later.
