Manchester City secured their eighth FA Cup crown after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute when Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo produced a clever backheel finish from an assist by Erling Haaland, sealing the win for Manchester City in a tightly contested encounter against Chelsea.

The triumph handed Pep Guardiola his third FA Cup title as Manchester City manager and completed another domestic cup double for the club.

City dominated large phases of the match but struggled to create clear chances. Haaland had a first-half goal ruled out for offside before forcing a save later in the game, while Semenyo also went close early in the second half with a header that narrowly missed the target.

The breakthrough eventually arrived when Semenyo reacted smartly inside the box, flicking Haaland’s delivery into the net with a stylish backheel finish. The goal also marked a historic moment, as the Ghana international became the first player from his country to score in an FA Cup final.

The result extended City’s unbeaten run against Chelsea to 13 matches and deepened the Blues’ difficult season, which has already seen managerial changes and inconsistent performances.

For Chelsea, the defeat marked a fourth consecutive Wembley final loss, while City once again confirmed their dominance in English cup football at the national stadium.
