Kobbie Mainoo scored a late winner as Manchester United defeated Liverpool FC 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, sealing their qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

The high-intensity encounter lived up to its billing, producing five goals, momentum swings, and a dramatic finish.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring early with a deflected strike, before Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead with a close-range finish to give United a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Liverpool responded swiftly after halftime. Dominik Szoboszlai capitalised on a defensive error to pull one back, while Cody Gakpo levelled the score after another costly mistake from United’s goalkeeper.

With both sides pushing for a winner, Mainoo delivered the decisive moment, striking from outside the box to register his first goal of the season and secure all three points for the hosts.
