Kwankwaso Resigns from NNPP
Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) with immediate effect.
Kwankwaso, who also served as the party’s national leader, described the decision as difficult but necessary due to Nigeria’s current political landscape.
In a statement, he expressed gratitude to NNPP leaders, including National Chairman Ajuji Ahmed, the National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, and party members at all levels. He also thanked supporters of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for their dedication.
Kwankwaso emphasized his commitment to working with political stakeholders for a better future for Nigeria and indicated he would join a platform that provides a stronger opportunity to influence the nation’s trajectory.
According to reports, he is set to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, after meetings with Kano ADC leaders and ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola.
