JUST IN : APC Unveils 2027 Election Timetable, Sets Nomination Fees for Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, alongside the approved fees for nomination and expression of interest forms.

The schedule, released on April 20, 2026, in Abuja, was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu. It outlines key timelines for the electoral process, beginning with the notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026, and concluding with election appeals in late May.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while the submission deadline is fixed for May 4. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 8, with results to be published on May 11. Appeals will follow between May 12 and May 13.

Primary elections are slated to begin with the presidential primary from May 15 to May 16, followed by the House of Representatives on May 18, Senate on May 20, State House of Assembly on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 23, 2026.

In addition to the timetable, the APC also announced the cost of forms for aspirants seeking various offices:

* State House of Assembly: ₦6 million (₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦5 million for nomination)
* House of Representatives: ₦10 million (₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦9 million for nomination)
* Senate: ₦20 million (₦3 million for expression of interest and ₦17 million for nomination)
* Governorship: ₦50 million (₦10 million for expression of interest and ₦40 million for nomination)
* Presidential: ₦100 million (₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination)

The party also noted that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are required to pay only for the expression of interest form, with a 50 percent discount on the nomination fee.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting transparent and credible primaries, assuring members and stakeholders of a process that will strengthen internal democracy and uphold the party’s progressive ideals.
