Jonathan Pledges Active Role in PDP — Turaki

Kabiru Turaki, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says former President Goodluck Jonathan has pledged to remain active in the party.

Turaki disclosed this after a closed-door meeting with Jonathan in Abuja, where PDP leaders briefed him on the party’s challenges and future prospects.

According to Turaki, Jonathan reaffirmed that he is a card-carrying PDP member who feels obligated to the party and is ready to offer support and guidance.

He said Jonathan’s assurance was encouraging as the PDP prepares for off-season elections in Ekiti and Osun, as well as the 2027 general election.

The development comes amid ongoing internal crises within the PDP following the 2023 general election, which resulted in factional leadership and parallel party structures.
