The National President of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, has returned from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after completing his annual vacation and performing the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

Jagunmo’s return was formally marked today at IEYDA Congress, where the Acting National President, Alhaji Murtala Ottan, officially handed over the affairs of the Association back to him.

It would be recalled that prior to his departure for Saudi Arabia, Jagunmo had temporarily handed over the leadership of the Association to Ottan, who served as Acting National President throughout his absence.

The National Director of Publicity, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, who made the development known in a statement released to pressmen, said the handover took place at the Association’s Congress today, marking the formal resumption of Jagunmo as the National President.

Speaking at the Congress, Jagunmo expressed appreciation to the leadership, members and stakeholders of IEYDA for their support and cooperation during his absence.

He also commended Alhaji Murtala Ottan for his commitment, dedication and effective coordination of the Association’s activities while serving in an acting capacity.

The IEYDA President said his journey to the Holy Land provided an opportunity not only to fulfil the religious obligation of Umrah but also to offer prayers for the continued peace, unity, progress and prosperity of Ilorin Emirate and its people.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the Association and to advancing initiatives that promote the welfare, unity, education, empowerment and progress of youths across Ilorin Emirate.

Jagunmo further appreciated His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, members of the Royal Family, the Ilorin Emirate Council, IEYDA leadership and the entire sons and daughters of the Emirate for their prayers and goodwill.

The National President has now officially resumed his duties following the successful handover at the IEYDA Congress.
