2027: APC Members in Igbaja Ward Defect to PDP, Back Moshood Bakare

Several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbaja Ward 1 have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring their support for Hon. Moshood Olanrewaju Bakare, the party’s candidate for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.

The defectors announced their decision at a declaration event held in Igbaja, where local political leaders cited dissatisfaction within the APC and what they described as unfulfilled promises among the reasons for their decision to leave the party.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the leaders said Bakare’s experience in public service, constituency interventions and philanthropic activities through the Moshood Bakare Foundation influenced their decision to support his candidacy.

They pledged to work with Bakare and other PDP candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing their readiness to contribute to the party’s campaign and mobilisation efforts across the constituency.

The development adds to the political activities taking place in the constituency as parties and their supporters intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
