IGP Disu Assures Kwara Residents of Improved Security
The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has assured residents of Kwara State that security agencies are determined to reclaim communities threatened by bandits and other criminals.
Disu gave the assurance during an operational visit to the Nigeria Police Force command in Ilorin, where he met with stakeholders to review strategies for tackling insecurity. He urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, emphasizing that collective action is essential to restoring peace and safety.
The police chief also visited Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, thanking the state government for its continued support in the fight against crime.
Kwara, like other North-Central states such as Kogi State, Benue State, and Niger State, has recently experienced attacks by armed groups. Following a deadly attack in Woro community earlier this year, Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered a military operation, Operation Savannah Shield, to combat terrorists and protect vulnerable communities.
