A Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on Tuesday has remanded a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Hon. Illiasu Ibrahim, Mallam Shola Muse, and Adesemowo “Ade Gogo” Suleiman over alleged defamatory remarks against Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, elder brother of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Presiding Judge Hon. Justice E.B. Mohammed ordered the trio held at Oke-Kura correctional facility following their arraignment on a three-count criminal charge filed by the Kwara State Government.

The charges, under Sections 97, 114, and 399 of the Penal Code, Cap. P4, Laws of Kwara State, 2006, relate to statements made during a programme broadcast on SBS 96.9 FM that allegedly contained false and derogatory claims capable of inciting public unrest.

Counsel for Hon. Illiasu had previously informed the court of his client’s ill health, leading to adjournments in December 2025 and January 2026. However, all three defendants appeared on Tuesday’s sitting.

Justice Mohammed ordered their remand and adjourned the case to April 25, 2026, for further hearing.
