Commendation as Olododo provides free medical care for Ilorin East/South constituents

Residents of Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency in Kwara State have praised former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, after he sponsored a free medical outreach that attracted residents from different communities in the constituency.

They expresssed that the exercise offered relief to residents who struggle to pay hospital bills, while others used the opportunity to appeal for additional support to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

Beneficiaries were drawn from across the twenty-three (23) wards in Ilorin East and South Local Government Areas of the state.

The Community medical outreach, an initiative of the Ilorin College of Health Technology held on Saturday was sponsored by the former Commisioner of Works and APC House of Representatives Candidate for Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency.

The excercise held simultaneously at Balogun Fulani in Ilorin South and Kankatu Market, Okelele, in Ilorin East local government areas of Kwara State.

Speaking with the beneficiaries, Alhaji Soliu Ishola Balogun said he received free medical attention and drugs after explaining his health complaints to the medical team.

He described Olododo as a young man who had demonstrated qualities expected of a leader.

“I pray he lives long and gets to a higher position. Although he is a young man, he does what elders really want,” he said.

Another beneficiary, Mallam Taiye Soliu Gobir, a native of Gambari community, noted that the free medical care was timely, asking God to elevate Engr. Olododo to a higher position.

Gobir also prayed for the former commissioner to succeed in his political aspirations.

Another beneficiary, Hajia Aishat Usman, thanked Olododo for the intervention but appealed to him to extend his support to small business owners in the community.

“We are grateful for what Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo did for us. I pray all his prayers are answered.

“I want to appeal to him to help with funds to boost our businesses. We really need capital to step up our businesses and we seek his help,” she said.

Also speaking, the Alangua of Ibagun community, Mallam Sakariyau Iyanda has described the free medical outreach sponsored by Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo as a timely intervention for the people of the community.

Iyanda said many residents live with undiagnosed health challenges but are unable to consistently seek medical attention because of financial difficulties.

“This kind of medical outreach is one of its kind and it is really helpful to the community,” he said.

Iyanda prayed for the sponsors, including Olododo and the management of the Ilorin College of Health Technology, wishing them continued success.

For his part, Honourable Saidu Lafia, Supervising Councillor for Education in Ilorin South Local Government and a supporter of Olododo, said the medical intervention was consistent with what he described as the former commissioner’s commitment to supporting members of the community.

“We are as usual on what Olododo is known for — helping the members of the community. This time he sponsored a free medical outreach for the aged, young, male and female that have health challenges,” Lafia said.

He said the exercise enabled residents to benefit from what he described as the dividends of democracy and part of Olododo’s humanitarian activities in Ilorin East and South.

Lafia stressed that the outreach was not restricted to people affiliated with any political party.

“And we did not select based on political affiliation. All the residents living within the community were contacted through the Alangua, Magaji and religious leaders. They helped us in passing the message to them and that’s how they got to know about the programme,” he said.

He prayed for the recovery of the beneficiaries and urged them to support Olododo in the 2027 general elections.
