The Turaki of Ilorin Emirate and lawmaker representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the dominant political force in Nigeria, describing it as “the party to beat,” as he received a heroic welcome in Ilorin ahead of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

Senator Mustapha made the remark on Tuesday shortly after arriving in Ilorin to a tumultuous reception by a large crowd of supporters, admirers, and APC members who trooped out to receive him at the airport.

His convoy was escorted from the airport through major roads of Ilorin to the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, where he paid homage to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.

Speaking with journalists at the palace, the senator expressed appreciation for the massive turnout, describing it as a reflection of genuine love from the people of Kwara State.

“I am so happy to come home and be received in this manner. It is a sign of true love from the people of Kwara. Money cannot buy this; it is the will of Allah, and whatever Allah has destined, we will continue to be grateful to Him,” he said.

Reaffirming his confidence in the ruling party, Mustapha maintained that the APC has strong grassroots support and remains unmatched in the state’s political landscape.

“The APC is the party to beat. A united and strong APC cannot be matched by any political party in Kwara State. I see great prospects for the party as we continue to support the good work already started by both the state and federal governments, especially under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President,” he stated.

He also thanked his constituents for the overwhelming show of affection, noting that the gesture deeply moved him.

“The love I have been shown by the people of Kwara is beyond what words can express. It is something I feel deeply within me. May Allah continue to bless our community and Kwara State,” he added.

At the palace, the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, commended the senator for his loyalty to the Emirate and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

The monarch expressed pride in the lawmaker’s achievements and prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and success in his service to the people.
