ADC Launches Free Nationwide Online Membership Registration Ahead of 2027 Polls
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched a free online membership registration platform nationwide as part of preparations for the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the digital portal forms part of its ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise, which was inaugurated in Abuja last month.
According to the ADC, the new platform was introduced to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates political parties to maintain comprehensive digital membership registers. The party emphasised that only members whose details are fully captured and verified in its official digital database will be eligible to vote or contest in its primaries.
While the online option is now available, the party clarified that manual registration will continue concurrently across the country to ensure wider participation.
The ADC noted that the portal, accessible via www.adcregistration.ng, is designed to simplify enrolment, remove barriers to entry, and enable Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to register seamlessly and securely.
The party further directed members who registered on its previous platform to revalidate their details on the new portal in line with the requirements of the Electoral Act and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Support groups and affiliated associations were also encouraged to complete their onboarding process through the platform.
Although the party maintained its objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 and the INEC timetable, it reaffirmed its commitment to building a modern, inclusive and citizen-driven political movement capable of delivering credible leadership.
On February 18, President Bola Tinubu assented to the Electoral Act amendment bill after its passage by the National Assembly. Section 77(2) of the law requires political parties to submit a comprehensive digital membership register to INEC at least 21 days before their primaries, containing detailed personal information of members in both hard and soft copies.
