AbdulRazaq Declares Monday Work-Free for Kwara Teachers

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared Monday a work-free day for teachers across the state as part of activities marking the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.

The decision was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s deputy spokesperson, Mashood Agboola.

According to the statement, the work-free day is intended to give teachers in the state an opportunity to mark the annual celebration dedicated to recognising their role in education and human development.

The governor commended teachers in Kwara for their contribution to the development of human capital in the state. He also acknowledged their efforts and resilience in carrying out their responsibilities.

AbdulRazaq assured teachers that his administration would continue to give attention to their welfare while also working to improve the wellbeing of residents across the state.

The governor expressed his appreciation for the work done by teachers in educating and developing young people, noting their role in preparing future generations.

He also wished teachers in Kwara a more rewarding and prosperous career as they continue their service to the state and the wider society.

The 2026 World Teachers’ Day celebration provides an opportunity for the state government to recognise teachers and their contribution to the education sector.

The work-free day will apply to teachers in Kwara State on Monday, allowing them to observe the celebration without their regular work duties.
