Liverpool have completed the signing of France international Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £124 million.

The 23-year-old winger joins the Premier League champions on a long-term contract, becoming Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing in the club’s history.

A source close to PSG told AFP that the transfer is worth €125 million (£107 million), with a further €20 million in easily achievable bonuses.

The overall package places Barcola just behind Alexander Isak, who Liverpool signed from Newcastle for £125 million, as the club’s most expensive acquisition.

Barcola’s transfer fee also sets a new record for a player moving directly from Ligue 1.

The French forward becomes the third attacker Liverpool have signed for more than £100 million in the last two years. The club brought in Isak from Newcastle last year and also paid around £100 million to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Barcola had not featured for PSG this season amid growing speculation over his future before completing his move to Anfield.

Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Barcola expressed his excitement at joining Liverpool and outlined his ambition to win major trophies with the club.

“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” he said.

“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life.”

Barcola added that he wants to establish himself at Liverpool for the long term after signing his contract.
