Osun 2026: APC legislative aides stage solidarity, victory walk for AMBO ahead of guber election

Members of the APC National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group have intensified their grassroots mobilisation for the party’s governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The group staged a solidarity “Walk to Victory” on Monday, in Osogbo, saying it was in the state to canvass support for Oyebamiji and strengthen the APC’s chances of winning the August 15 poll.

The procession which had ANALAG members and APC supporters commenced from the Olaiya bridge towards the Party State secretariat located in Ogo-Oluwa, and concluded at the Ileri-Oluwa House along Gbongban, Ibadan Express Way, Ogo-Oluwa, in the state capital.

Addressing the press shortly after the solidarity walk, Ambassador Ayoola Ronke Fakunle, the Coordinator of ANALAG, said members of the group came from Abuja to join their Osun counterparts in mobilising voters for the APC candidate.

The Kwara House of Representatives aspirant described Oyebamiji as a credible candidate, citing his experience as a two-time commissioner in Osun State and immediate past Chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

“We’re here to support our own, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO. He has been doing wonderfully well, and we believe supporting him will make Osun proud,” she said.

She said the group would intensify its grassroots campaign through door-to-door and house-to-house mobilisation across communities in the state.

“Our coming to Osun is to support and mobilise for victory. We’re going door to door, house to house to support and mobilise for him because of the good work and track record he has built as a two-time commissioner and immediate past chairman of NIWA,” Fakunle said.

According to her, Oyebamiji’s experience in public service had equipped him with the knowledge required to identify Osun’s challenges and direct government resources towards addressing them.

Fakunle said an AMBO administration would prioritise unemployment, social amenities and other challenges confronting residents, expressing confidence that the APC candidate would emerge victorious at the election.

She also urged APC members and other residents to shun violence and concentrate on exercising their constitutional right to vote.

“APC is holding the treasure. We don’t need to fight anybody; we just have to go out and vote. I am advising everyone to come out and vote for AMBO because he is the only one that can do it better,” she said.

Also speaking, the APC Youth Leader in Olorunda Local Government Area, Comrade Mumeen Tiamiyu, popularly known as Omoluabi, said the walk was organised to demonstrate solidarity with the legislative aides’ support group and mobilise voters for Oyebamiji.

Tiamiyu said APC members and supporters turned out in large numbers to reinforce the party’s grassroots campaign and demonstrate their support for the AMBO candidacy.

“We’re here in solidarity with the APC Legislative Aides Support Group in Osun State. This is a walk to victory for the success of AMBO, who is the flag bearer of the APC ahead of Saturday’s governorship election,” he said.

He added that the group’s objective was to canvass votes and ensure that the APC mandate was secured through the ballot.

Tiamiyu described Oyebamiji as a candidate capable of transforming Osun State and leading it towards a more prosperous future.

“We know and believe in him. He is here to transform Osun into the prosperous future that we aspire to,” he said.

The mobilisation featured a procession of APC supporters carrying party-branded materials and banners of the APC National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group, with participants calling on voters to support Oyebamiji at the August 15 governorship election.
