Hundreds of less-privileged Nigerians have benefited from a transformative livelihood empowerment programme organised by the Abubakar As-Siddiq Philanthropic Home (ASPH), with funding from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief).

The programme, held on Sunday at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, opposite the Government House in Ilorin, featured the distribution of motorcycles, tricycles, and truck tricycles to the less privileged.

Speaking at the event, ASPH President, Mallam AbdulRazzaq Salman Sholagberu, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to creating lasting economic opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians through sustainable humanitarian interventions.

He appreciated KSrelief for its support and commended the Kwara State Government and other partners for their collaboration in the successful implementation of the programme.

For his part, the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi, who represented Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, applauded KSrelief and ASPH for the initiative, describing it as a life-changing intervention that complements the state’s efforts to reduce poverty and promote self-reliance.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nna-Fatimah, said the programme represents another significant step towards empowering vulnerable Nigerians through sustainable livelihood opportunities rather than short-term assistance.

The event was attended by government officials, development partners, community leaders and beneficiaries, many of whom expressed appreciation for the opportunity to improve their economic prospects through the initiative.
