NANS to Honour AATU Founder at Students’ Welfare and Security Summit

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kwara State Axis, has named the founder of Abubakar AbdulRazaq Toyin University (AATU), Alhaji Abubakar AbdulRazaq Toyin, as the distinguished honouree at the maiden Students’ Welfare and Security Summit.

The Director of Welfare, Comrade Muh’d Jamiu Abdulsalam Olarewaju, announced the recognition in a statement on Tuesday, describing it as a reward for the university founder’s contributions to education, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community development.

According to Abdulsalam, the honour also acknowledges Alhaji Toyin’s vision in establishing AATU to expand access to quality higher education and innovation-driven learning.

Located in Ganmo, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, AATU was among the private universities licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2025 and has since gained recognition for its focus on academic excellence, technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.

The maiden Students’ Welfare and Security Summit is expected to bring together stakeholders to discuss issues affecting students’ welfare, safety, and the overall learning environment across tertiary institutions in Kwara State.
