Kwara APC Screens Out 105 House Assembly Aspirants Ahead of Primaries
The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has released the outcome of its screening exercise for aspirants seeking to contest seats in the Kwara State House of Assembly ahead of the party’s forthcoming primaries.
According to the results made public by the party and pasted at its state secretariat, a total of 105 aspirants were screened out of the process, meaning they did not scale through the clearance stage required to proceed to the next phase of the selection process.
The development has stirred reactions within political circles across the state, as the affected aspirants are drawn from different constituencies and local government areas across Kwara State.
According to reports, 158 House of Assembly aspirants purchased nomination forms to participate in the screening exercise. Out of this number, 105 were not cleared, while the remaining 53 aspirants were successfully cleared to advance to the next stage of the party’s selection process ahead of the primaries.
Party officials are expected to release further guidelines on the conduct of the primaries in the coming days as preparations continue across constituencies in the state.
