Yusuf Buhari Clinches APC Ticket Unopposed for Katsina Reps Seat
Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf secured the ticket unopposed following a stakeholders’ meeting held on April 28 in Katsina, where party leaders unanimously adopted him as the consensus candidate for the constituency.
He had earlier declared his intention to run on April 3, expressing his commitment to delivering good leadership and driving development in the area. On April 23, he formally presented his ambition during a visit to Dikko Radda at the Government House.
The announcement of his adoption was made by Ahmed Dangiwa, who chaired the Daura zone consensus committee.
Reacting to the development, Mannir Musa, APC chairman in Mai’adua LGA, called on party members to embrace the decision in good faith and remain united for the progress of the party.
“I urge all our people to accept the consensus reached by stakeholders and work together for the unity and growth of the party,” he said.
Musa also appealed to the state government to consider aspirants who did not secure tickets and encouraged consensus candidates to justify the confidence placed in them through effective representation.
In his response, Yusuf Buhari expressed gratitude to party members for their support and pledged to deliver quality representation if elected.
