The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on April 17 and 18.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed that a total of 1,264,940 results from the two days are now available for candidates to access.

According to him, candidates who participated in the examinations can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.

Benjamin further revealed that JAMB had earlier released 632,752 results from the April 16 examination, bringing the total number of results released so far to 1,897,692.

The release has eased concerns among candidates who had expressed anxiety over delays in the publication of Friday’s results.

The spokesperson had initially assured candidates via a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the results would be released before midnight on Saturday. However, the timeline was not met, prompting an apology from the board.

He explained that the delay was due to the unavailability of JAMB’s chief executive, who was attending an important engagement. Benjamin reassured candidates that the results would be released before the end of Sunday—a promise that was eventually fulfilled.

He also apologised to candidates who waited late into the night for the results, appreciating their patience and understanding.
