2027: Moshood Bakare Appoints Ex-Oyun Council Speaker, Mustapha Kabir Olarewaju, Campaign DG

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Hon. Moshood Olanrewaju Bakare, has appointed former Speaker of Oyun Local Government Council, Hon. Mustapha Kabir Olarewaju, as Director-General of his campaign organisation for the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The appointment was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the PDP Secretariat in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, attended by party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots representatives.

Olarewaju, an indigene of Irra in Oyun Local Government Area, previously served as PDP Chairman in the local government and Speaker of the Oyun Local Government Council.

His appointment is expected to place him at the centre of the campaign’s coordination, with responsibility for working with party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots structures across Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun Federal Constituency.

In his acceptance remarks, Olarewaju expressed appreciation to Bakare and the PDP leadership for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to bring his political experience to bear on the assignment.

He emphasised the need for unity, discipline, effective coordination and grassroots engagement, noting that the success of the campaign organisation would depend on the active participation and cooperation of party members at all levels.

In his remarks, Bakare charged the newly appointed Director-General to work closely with existing party structures and stakeholders across the three local government areas to strengthen communication, coordination and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting was attended by Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, a member of the PDP National Board of Trustees; Alhaja Sikirat Anako, a former member of the Kwara State House of Assembly; Hon. Olatoke, Chairman of the PDP in Oyun Local Government Area; and other party leaders and stakeholders.

The appointment comes amid ongoing political preparations for the 2027 House of Representatives election, with party stakeholders focusing on campaign organisation, stakeholder engagement and grassroots mobilisation across the constituency.
