2027: Jandor Withdraws from Lagos Governorship Race

Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has withdrawn from the APC governorship race ahead of the 2027 election in Lagos.

His decision follows the endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat by key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Jandor said the move was taken in the interest of party unity and cohesion, stressing that leadership sometimes requires difficult decisions.

Hamzat has also received backing from former governor Akinwunmi Ambode, further strengthening his position ahead of the APC primaries, which party sources say remain open.
