2027: APC Defectors Back Saliu Mustapha’s Re-election Bid

Defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Baboko Ward, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, have expressed support for the re-election bid of Senator Saliu Mustapha, describing him as deserving of another term in the National Assembly.

The defectors, led by Alhaji Lanre Rocky, who officially dumped the APC after a rally in Ilorin on Sunday, said the lawmaker’s performance, people-oriented initiatives and commitment to the development of Kwara Central Senatorial District have strengthened their confidence in his leadership and capacity to deliver effective representation.

They maintained that Senator Mustapha’s achievements across key sectors, including education, agriculture, healthcare and youth empowerment, have demonstrated his dedication to improving the welfare of the people.

The defectors also pledged to mobilise support for the senator and all the candidates of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara ahead of the 2027 general elections.
