Tinubu Pays Tribute to Late Chief Imam of Ilorin

President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sadness over the passing of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, the esteemed Chief Imam of Ilorin and a revered Islamic scholar, who died at the age of 75.

In a statement issued by his special adviser on information and strategy, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Imam, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate Council, and the entire Muslim community in Kwara State.

Describing the late Sheikh as “a devoted servant of Allah, a bridge-builder, and a voice of moderation,” the President praised his wisdom, humility, and unwavering commitment to unity, which endeared him to people of all backgrounds.

“Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu’s invaluable contributions to religious harmony, community development, and the nurturing of future generations through learning and exemplary leadership will never be forgotten by the Muslim Ummah,” President Tinubu said.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants the departed Al-Jannah Firdaus and comforts his family and followers during this time of grief.
