Tinubu Meets Defence Minister, Reviews Security Operations

President Bola Tinubu has met with the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), at the Presidential Residence in Lagos to review the country’s ongoing security operations.

The meeting, held on Monday, focused on Nigeria’s national defence framework, the progress of military operations against insurgency and banditry, as well as measures to improve coordination among security agencies.

The Ministry of Defence disclosed this in a statement, saying the engagement was part of efforts to strengthen the country’s security response and sustain peace across the various regions.

During the meeting, Tinubu was briefed on ongoing defence initiatives, operational challenges affecting troops on the frontline and plans to improve the military’s capabilities.

The discussions also covered proposals to boost the morale of personnel, upgrade military equipment and strengthen infrastructure needed for effective operations.

Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded in efforts to protect vulnerable communities across the country.

The President also assured the Defence Ministry of his administration’s continued support as the military and other security agencies work to tackle threats facing the nation.

Musa, in turn, thanked the President for his guidance and support for Nigeria’s security institutions.

The Defence Minister assured that the ministry would continue to carry out its responsibilities with determination and integrity.

The meeting was part of Tinubu’s regular security engagements with senior government officials as his administration continues to assess security developments and coordinate responses to challenges across the country.
