Tinubu makes new appointments

Fela Durotoye has been designated as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for National Values & Social Justice, while Fredrick Nwabufo has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement.

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of five individuals to the Media & Publicity Directorate within the President’s office.

Fela Durotoye has been designated as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for National Values & Social Justice, while Fredrick Nwabufo has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement.

Additionally, three other individuals have been named for roles in the Presidential Media and Publicity Directorate. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.

Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe will serve as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Communications, Aliyu Audu is appointed as the Special Assistant to the President for Public Affairs, and Francis Adah Abah will assume the role of Personal Assistant to the President for Special Duties.

The appointments have been made in line with Nigeria’s federal character principle and merit-based considerations.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has also approved the secondment of Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

The President emphasizes the importance of maintaining decorum and decency in all engagements with the public and underscores his commitment to renewing hope in a restructured economy and a unified society that serves the needs of all Nigerians.

Notably, Fredrick Nwabufo, one of the appointees, previously held positions as the former deputy editor and Abuja bureau chief of TheCable Newspaper.
