N’Assembly postpones plenary resumption to March 5
The National Assembly of Nigeria has shifted the resumption of plenary from Tuesday, February 24, 2026, to Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana. He explained that the adjustment was necessary to allow various committees conclude ongoing budget defence sessions.
According to the statement, plenary earlier scheduled for February 24 has been postponed to enable lawmakers finalise work related to the consideration of the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
Both the Senate and the House of Representatives are now expected to reconvene on March 5 at 11:00 a.m. to resume legislative proceedings.
The leadership of the Assembly expressed regret over any inconvenience the change may cause and urged all Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members to take note of the new date and time.
